It covers many areas including canning, barn raising, school life, butchering, chores, syrup making, winter sledding, gardening, social activities, combining, buggy styles and much more. Twenty years ago the author published: The Amish Community in Daviess County, Indiana. This book goes back to the area to show what has and has not changed. Here you will find many reasons to respect and admire the work ethic, faith and ingenuity of an often misunderstood people.
